This region is a fisherman’s paradise, hosting some of the finest trout fishing waters in the world.  Try your hand at salmon fishing in the nearby Waitaki River and beautiful hydro lakes.

Fossil hunters will not be disappointed!   Local hobbiests regularly discover an array of specimens, including sharks' teeth, sea urchins, dolphin vertebrae and even an occasional whale skull!  Minutes away, visit the Vanished World complex, where you can observe an ancient shark-toothed dolphin and a variety of fossilized sea creatures on display.

Rock climbing, mountain biking, horse trekking, scenic tramping
and golfing are yours to enjoy nearby, and the region is an endless playground for motor bikers and 4-wheelers!

The region surrounding the holiday park is rich with geologic anomalies.  Only minutes away you can experience Elephant Rocks, where scenes from The Chronicles of Narnia were filmed.
Discover local Rattling Rocks, visit the amazing fluted Clay Cliffs, or view rock drawings scribed on limestone cliffs by Maori artists traveling along the Waitaki River to cross the Southern Alps.

Turn right at the end of our camp driveway and you will immediately find yourself weaving through North Otago's most spectacular scenery.  Take your time and enjoy the ascent to majestic Dansey's Pass, then descend into the quaint, rustic town of Naseby, home of international curling competitions.

Looking for an oasis?
For over half a century, folks have retreated to Dansey's Pass Holiday Park to escape the bustle and the noise.  Relax.
Listen to the peaceful song of the Bell Birds.  Park yourself on a nearby hill where it's just you, the wind, and a breathtaking vista.  Or just rest at the park and enjoy the river as it tumbles through the slate-limestone boulders and settles in the quiet, inviting swimming pools.
