Danseys Pass
A unique NZ holiday destination
Danseys Pass Holiday Park is a popular destination for both NZ and international visitors, situated on the magestic Maerewhenua River. Our accommodation options include 8 cozy two-bedroom cabins, a fully self-contained A-frame chalet, a charming River Cottage with a porch looking over the river, 16 powered sites and 19 unpowered riverside tent sites. Our facilities include shared bathroom facilities, fully-equipped kitchens, a guest lounge and laundry area. There is no phone coverage on-site, but we now offer free Wifi from the guest lounge.
A true kiwi camp since 1955
In the late 1850's, William Dansey extensively explored the rugged mountains inland from Oamaru, including a passthrough the hills from the Waitaki Valley to Ranfurly and CentralOtago. Today, Dansey's Pass is best known for the Dansey's Pass Holiday Park, a peaceful rural camping ground nestled beside the Maerewhenua River. This is the ideal spot for long hot sunny days by the river and peaceful walks among slate-limestone hills and native bush.
